Ohana Gymnastics

Fitness Made Fun's competitive gymnastics team is called Ohana Gymnastics. This title embodies our team spirit. Ohana gymnastics motto is "Ohana means Family".

Competitive gymnastics offers children the opportunity to pursue gymnastics to a higher level and experience all of the benefits that go along with it! Competitive gymnastics offers children a unique opportunity to develop a high level of self-esteem, self-discipline, and work ethic. Our team staff is dedicated to guiding each gymnasts to develop these skills in a structured format to progress as high in gymnastics as they wish to go. With Ohana gymnastics we make sure that family and school come first, then gymnastics. We offer low to high commitment options for each level, so the gymnasts and their families can progress as fast or as slow as they would like.

Please note; team levels are designated by ability not age. Team is for ages 5 and older. Team groups may have students, training together, with varied ages. Team placement is only our suggestion of where we feel your child will be most suited. We understand that sometimes families are unable to make either the financial or time commitment required. But with Ohana Gymnastics we have other options that might better suit your needs.

Benefits to Competitive Gymnastics

  1. Improved physical fitness. Competitive gymnastics is a great way to improve overall physical fitness. It develops strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, and agility.

  2. Increased self-confidence. Competitive gymnastics can help to build self-confidence. Gymnasts must learn to overcome challenges and persevere in the face of setbacks. They also learn to set goals and work hard to achieve them. This can lead to a more positive self-image and a greater sense of accomplishment.

  3. Developed discipline. Competitive gymnastics requires a great deal of discipline. Gymnasts must be able to follow instructions, work hard, and be organized. They also need to be able to manage their time effectively. These skills transfer to other areas of life, such as school and work.

  4. Strong work ethic. Competitive gymnastics teaches the importance of hard work. Gymnasts must put in a lot of time and effort to improve their skills. This can help them to develop a strong work ethic that will serve them now into adulthood.

  5. Social skills. Competitive gymnastics can help to develop social skills. Gymnasts must learn to work together with others, communicate effectively, and conflict resolution. These skills can be valuable in both personal and professional relationships.

In addition to these benefits, competitive gymnastics can also be a lot of fun! It is a challenging and rewarding sport that can provide a lifetime of enjoyment. Helping your athlete learn aspects that will assist them in becoming leaders, positive examples, and responcible adults!

Ohana Gymnastics runs in three different competitive leagues to cater to each students needs and competitive desires.

For athletes that want to take gymnastics at a relaxed and low commitment rate, we offer the Ohana Gymnastics Fun League! Fitness Made Fun holds three, in-house competitions per season. At two of the in-house meets. This allows the gymnasts to be rewarded for their own efforts and not on a curve. This is a positive, self-motivating form of competition! The third in-house competition will be the the traditional form of competition with other competitors. This league is perfect for your gymnast that doesn't desire the competitive format but still loves gymnastics!

For athletes that love competitive gymnastics, want to compete, but also want to participate in other sports, only want to come to gymnastics 2-3 days a week, we offer the Ohana Local League. This St. Louis based league and is governed by AAU gymnastics. The league meets are held in Missouri. These meets are positive and motivating. Gymnasts compete and are ranked against each other. This league allows healthy competition through a positive format. This league also allows the experience of competing in state, regional and national level competitions.

For athletes that love gymnastics, wish to "live" at the gym, excel at a motivating rate, and want nothing else besides gymnastics, we offer the USAG league. USA Gymnastics is the national governing body for the sport in the United States. The organization is committed to creating a culture that empowers and supports its athletes and focuses on its highest priority, the safety and well-being of the athletes. Gymnasts compete and are ranked against each other. You must be able to test out of a level, you must receive a certain All-Around score at a USAG sanctioned competitions. Competitions are held all over the United States, we attempt to only participate in competitions in Missouri, with the exceptions of Regionals.
